Sergey Sergeyev.
Sergey Sergeyev was born in Leningrad in 1971. During his childhood he showed great potential for drawing. After school
he entered the fine art school named after Vasily Serov and then
the Academy of Fine Arts in St.Petersburg.
In 2001 he graduated from Academy of Fine Arts, and is qualified
as a sculptor.
He is currently a member of the Union of Artists of St.Petersburg.
In his works he prefers a realist approach, though his touch is both classic and modern. In 2003 he (together with his academy colleague Grigory Lukyanov) won the city competition devoted to the best project of the future monument of bombardier Vasily.
This monument was cast in bronze and was sighted on Vasilyevskiy island in St. Petersburg.
Subsequently Sergey Sergeyev conceived a set of sculptures in the Baroque style for the interior decor of a private collector’s palace in the suburbs of St.Petersburg.
Later he worked at monumental sculpture in the Classical style in order to decorate the facade of a new hotel in the centre of St. Petersburg.
His personal favorite genres are portraitism and animalism.
To the sculptor’s mind the most important thing in modeling a person
is psychological analysis and the depiction of physical beauty.
The sculptor’s passion for sculpture supplements his passion for poetry.
Poetical section of the present site is under construction and will be represented soon.
